Bespoke Kitchen table with cutlery drawer
made of Cornish Elm (Small Leaved Elm, Ulmus Minor) by Furgus Parsons.
.
This table can have one or two drawers for cutlery
etc, and can incorporate a secret compartment.
Elm trees do still grow in the UK, although Dutch Elm
Disease will kill most of them before they reach maturity.
Some however do survive, and their particular genetic
makeup will be the foundation for future generations of
disease resistant trees..
This detail of the Cornish Elm kitchen table
shows the decorative "stop chamfering" on the
legs and also shaped knee brackets between the top of the
leg and the rail joints.
